About the role
Embedded Software Design Engineer:
We are looking for a passionate Embedded Software Design Engineer (fresher to 3 years of experience) to join our software team. You will develop firmware, device drivers, board support packages and application software for our GNSS receivers, time synchronization systems, antenna control units and rugged computing products, working closely with the hardware team from board bring-up to field deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop firmware in Embedded C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M/Cortex-A based microcontrollers and SoCs.
Develop and port Board Support Packages (BSP), bootloaders (U-Boot) and device drivers on Embedded Linux and RTOS platforms (FreeRTOS or equivalent).
Implement drivers and application software for peripherals and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS-232/422/485 and GPIO.
Develop and integrate communication protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, NTP/PTP time synchronization and NMEA/GNSS message parsing.
Support board bring-up of new hardware - flashing, debugging and validating processor, memory and peripheral functionality along with the hardware team.
Implement algorithms for navigation, tracking and control applications in coordination with senior engineers.
Write test code, perform unit and integration testing, and support environmental/EMI qualification test cycles.
Debug issues at the hardware-software boundary using JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Prepare software design documents, test reports and user documentation.
Required Skills:
Strong programming fundamentals in C (and preferably C++), data structures and memory management.
Good understanding of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture, interrupts, timers, DMA and peripheral interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
Basic knowledge of Embedded Linux or any RTOS concepts (tasks, scheduling, semaphores, queues).
Familiarity with development tools: GCC toolchains, Makefiles, Git, JTAG/SWD debuggers.
Ability to read schematics and datasheets and work closely with hardware engineers.
Good analytical, debugging and documentation skills.
For experienced candidates (1–3 yrs): hands-on project experience in firmware/driver/BSP development is expected.
Preferred / Added Advantage:
Academic or project exposure to GNSS/GPS, navigation, SATCOM or communication systems.
Knowledge of Linux kernel/device driver development or Yocto build systems.
Exposure to networking protocols (TCP/IP stack, NTP/PTP) or socket programming.
Scripting knowledge (Python/Shell) for test automation.
Familiarity with defense/aerospace software practices and documentation.
What We Offer:
Hands-on exposure to complete product development - firmware to field deployment - on mission-critical defense and aerospace products.
Mentorship from a core team of experienced professionals across specialized domains.
Fast learning curve in a DeepTech environment serving leading Indian PSUs and defense organizations.
Benefits:
Health insurance
Internet reimbursement
Provident Fund
