Position Overview
Regional leadership role accountable for efficiency, cost, and performance of the air and linehaul network across multiple states and inter-regional corridors. Owns network flow, routing optimization, hub performance, and cost efficiency across air operations.
Leads all Air Hub Heads within the region and drives network efficiency through route optimization, alternate mode strategies, and process standardization. Acts as the regional anchor for network cost control, capacity alignment, and seamless inter-regional flow of shipments.
This role operates as a regional capability and governance function, working closely with line Operations, Aviation, and Network teams to ensure consistent, efficient, and cost-effective network performance.
Job Purpose
To optimize air and linehaul network performance by driving routing efficiency, cost control, and process improvements, while ensuring reliable service, capacity alignment, and seamless integration across the logistics network.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute regional air and linehaul strategy aligned to service SLAs and cost objectives.
Translate national network strategies into region-specific execution plans.
Drive continuous improvement in network design, routing, and capacity planning.
Air Hub Leadership
Lead and manage Air Hub Heads across the region, ensuring alignment to performance, cost, and service targets.
Ensure hub-level performance in terms of throughput, turnaround time, and operational consistency.
Drive standardization and best practices across all air hubs.
Network Optimization & Efficiency
Own and govern network flow efficiency across air hubs and linehaul corridors.
Optimize routing, load consolidation, and capacity utilization across the network.
Drive alternate mode strategies (air vs surface) to balance cost and service requirements.
Cost Optimization & Control
Drive network cost reduction initiatives through routing optimization and mode shifts.
Monitor cost per shipment and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.
Balance cost optimization with service commitments and operational reliability.
Process Re-engineering & Continuous Improvement
Lead process re-engineering initiatives to improve network efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Drive continuous improvement programs across air and linehaul operations.
Implement standardized and scalable processes across hubs and routes.
Stakeholder & Governance
Collaborate with Aviation, Network Design, Finance, and Operations teams for end-to-end alignment.
Act as regional SME for air and linehaul operations in internal forums.
Ensure alignment between regional execution and national network strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Operations / Supply Chain preferred); MBA/PG desirable.
Experience: 10–15 years of experience in logistics operations, with strong exposure to air network, linehaul, or hub operations.
Proven experience in managing multi-location operations and leading second-line teams.
Exposure to network optimization, routing, and cost management preferred.
Preferred industries: Express logistics, 3PL, eCommerce logistics, aviation-linked operations.
