Role Description

This is a Part-time, on-site Corporate Lawyer (Consultant / Freelance) role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The Corporate Lawyer will provide legal counsel on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with suppliers, distributors, and partners.

Daily responsibilities include advising on compliance with cosmetic, consumer protection, and advertising laws, managing legal risks, and supporting corporate governance activities.

The role also involves handling intellectual property matters, assisting with policy documentation, and coordinating with external legal advisors when required.

The consultant will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure that business decisions and marketing initiatives align with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance, preferably within cosmetics, or retail sectors.

Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements such as vendor contracts, distribution agreements, NDAs, and service contracts.

Familiarity with intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and brand protection strategies.

Ability to interpret and apply consumer protection, advertising, labeling, and product safety regulations relevant to cosmetic products.

Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and risk assessment capabilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

Comfort working as a consultant/freelancer in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple matters and deadlines independently.

LL.B. or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India is preferred.

Prior in-house or law firm experience in corporate/commercial practice is highly beneficial.

Pay: ₹13,574.02 - ₹65,737.75 per month
