About the role
We are seeking an experienced Wintel Engineer to join a dynamic infrastructure and workplace technology team. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workplace Management, supporting endpoint management, operating system deployments, patch management, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise workplace solutions.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Windows environments, endpoint management tools, automation, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkplace & Endpoint Management
Install, configure, test, and maintain endpoint hardware and operating system images.
Manage operating systems, software applications, device drivers, upgrades, updates, and hotfixes.
Create, manage, and update corporate desktop and laptop images.
Develop and maintain task sequences for operating system deployments.
Administer Workplace Management solutions and related infrastructure services.
Provide backend infrastructure administration with a focus on PC imaging and endpoint management.
Support and troubleshoot escalations relating to desktop, server, and workplace management tools.
Patch Management & Software Distribution
Plan, implement, and support enterprise Patch Management processes.
Manage Software Distribution services across desktop and server environments.
Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) testing for endpoint-related changes and deployments.
Ensure compliance with operational standards and industry best practices.
Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
Design, implement, and maintain AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
Ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available.
Deploy, configure, and manage cloud services, including:
AWS EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM
Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions
Collaborate with development teams to architect and deploy cloud-native solutions.
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues.
Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Automation & Operational Excellence
Develop automations to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Review and enhance operational processes and procedures.
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and service delivery.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and reports.
Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows Infrastructure, Workplace Management, or Wintel environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, and Group Policy (GPO).
Experience with enterprise workplace management tools such as HCL BigFix, Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink, or similar platforms.
Solid knowledge of PC Imaging, Patch Management, Software Distribution, and Endpoint Management.
Experience designing and supporting AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Shell/Bash.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage stakeholders effectively.
Relevant AWS or Azure certifications would be an added advantage.
