We are offering an internship and MS thesis opportunity within the Turbomachinery Engineering team, focused on the analysis, design, and performance assessment of critical rotating equipment used in industrial energy applications.

The selected candidate will support engineering activities related to the mechanical behavior, performance, reliability, and life assessment of turbomachinery components. Depending on the candidate’s background and project needs, the internship may involve analytical modeling, numerical simulations, experimental data interpretation, methodology development, or advanced engineering assessments.

This opportunity provides exposure to real engineering challenges and allows the candidate to contribute to innovative projects supporting energy transition, decarbonization, and sustainable power generation technologies.

You’ll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset.

You will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) and culture of Baker Hughes. as well as our strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Support engineering studies related to rotating equipment and turbomachinery systems

Contribute to structural, thermal, dynamic, or performance analyses of mechanical components

Assist in the development and validation of engineering methodologies and analysis tools

Perform data collection, processing, and interpretation from simulations, testing activities, or operational feedback

Support reliability, durability, and life assessment activities for critical components

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and technology development functions

Contribute to technical documentation, engineering reports, and presentation of results

Participate in problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities related to engineering challenges

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related disciplines

Basic knowledge of mechanics, structural analysis, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or machine design

Familiarity with engineering simulation tools, numerical methods, or data analysis techniques is considered a plus

Interest in turbomachinery, rotating equipment, energy systems, and advanced engineering technologies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and teamwork attitude

The fixed allowance for this position will be between this range: 600 - 1000 € gross monthly.

The allowance will be established in accordance with criteria related to the candidate’s academic status and their distance from the workplace.
