M&R copywriters are organized, highly-driven, and naturally curious about the world. You are empathetic, putting yourself in the audience’s shoes to see things from new perspectives to create strong, persuasive content. Bottom line – you love to write. From creating 3-word taglines to 10,000-word websites, you can do it all. You can take complex, abstract concepts and put it into words people remember. You’re motivated to improve and can offer and accept constructive feedback on your work.
Primary responsibilities include:
Create engaging, thought-provoking, and brand-consistent content for a wide range of clients across all mediums – website, brand messaging, eNewsletters, ad campaigns and taglines, print, social, and video
Write and optimize content for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), applying keyword research, on-page best practices, and emerging AI search trends across web copy, blog content, and other client deliverables
Research a wide range of industries and lead content meetings with clients to discover their “why” and become educated on their services and market
Communicate and collaborate with designers, developers, digital strategists, and sales on various projects and concepts
Expertly proof all content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style and grammatical guidelines; this includes self-proofing and the proofing of other staff writers.
Copywriter should possess these skillsets:
Naturally curious and can formulate thoughtful and insightful questions
Ability to offer and accept constructive feedback on work
Ability to work on a deadline and manage multiple projects at once
Ability to clearly communicate messaging approach and strategy to team and clients
A strong work ethic, passion, and integrity
Ability to conduct keyword and topic research and apply on-page SEO best practices (meta titles/descriptions, header structure, internal linking)
Ability to write and structure content for both traditional search and AI/generative search (GEO), so it’s easily scanned, ranked, and cited
Ability to interpret website content performance data and pivot strategy accordingly
Additional experience in the following is appreciated:
Social Media strategy and platform management
Hands-on experience with SEO/GEO audits, reporting, or analytics platforms (e.g., Google Search Console, Semrush)
Pay: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
