About the role
What to Expect
As a key member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering Team, the Staff Manufacturing Engineer position involves leading Design for Manufacturing (DFM) studies, collaborating with vendors on new die builds, and overseeing critical activities such as simulation reviews, die layout and die design evaluation, manufacturing progress tracking, buyoff and homeline support. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in forming and die build with strong problem-solving abilities, cross-functional collaboration and project leadership skills to deliver world-class stamped parts at scale.
What You'll Do
Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) studies by conducting / reviewing forming simulations and working closely with Studio / Engineering Design team
Collaborate with vendors on new die builds – Reviewing simulation, Die Process, Die Design, Manufacturing, Buyoff & Homelining
Provides technical input for planning and installation of new equipment
Works with materials team on planning for new programs and addressing quality investigations
Work with vendors to ensure quality, performance and delivery targets are achieved prior to die shipping
Manage project schedules, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure all necessary activities are in place to meet deadlines
Collaborate with internal cross-functional team for discussions and planning of new programs
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
12+ years tooling engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with strong focus on formability, die build and execution
Proficient in Design for Manufacturing studies, including Class A & Battery Parts
Deep knowledge of Aluminum Class A, BIW and Closures experience with proficiency in Die Design and build of stamping Dies
In-depth knowledge of GD&T & BIW assembly processes; experienced in reviewing dimensional quality reports and driving tooling adjustment to achieve part and process maturity
Strong Leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
Familiarity with Production and quality control procedures
Strong time management and project coordination abilities
Understanding of material properties for steel & aluminum
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional teams and suppliers

Expected Compensation
$109,600 - $234,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
