Kitchen/Bar Assistant

We are an African themed restaurant seeking a Kitchen Assistant to work in our kitchen and assist the Chef in preparing delicious meals for our customers. You will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of the culinary team. The role requires the ability to stand extended periods during busy hours and collaborate effectively with the kitchen staff to deliver high-quality food preparation and service.

Kitchen Assistant responsibilities include:

Ensuring basic cleaning duties are done.

Supporting washing up and collection of pots and pans.

Keeping the food preparation area clean always as well as the equipment.

Unloading food and equipment deliveries.

Keeping floor, walls and surfaces sanitised.

Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.

Reporting any maintenance issues

Clearing all breakages and spillages, following operating procedure and dispose of them correctly.

Requirements include:

College Diploma or GCSE.

Proven experience working in the food service.

Knowledge of African(West African) food.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.

The ability to stand for extended periods.

Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual task including moving items from one location to the other.

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
