About the role

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Operative to lead project operations and support the delivery of key organisational objectives within Cura Homecare across our Midlands region.

The successful candidate will have strong supervisory experience and a practical background in multi-trade maintenance work. This role involves managing teams, improving workflows, and supporting the successful delivery of projects within a busy construction and property maintenance environment, whilst also supporting the teams working on your tools.

This is an excellent opportunity to oversee operational activities, support work programmes, and contribute to high standards of service delivery within a fast-paced organisation, working across a range of sectors including: Retirement, education, new build and commercial.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor project teams to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and within agreed timeframes and scope.

Coordinate and schedule work activities to support operational delivery and resource allocation.

Monitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement effective corrective actions.

Oversee day-to-day site operations while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and organisational policies.

Provide mentoring and guidance to team members, promoting skill development and continuous improvement.

Liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.

Support procurement activities and subcontractor management where required.

Assist to set quality standards whilst working on the tools

Person Specification

Proven experience in a supervisory role within construction and maintenance.

Strong practical multi-trade background, eg. Plumbing, Carpentry, Decorating

Ability to lead teams while maintaining high standards of workmanship and service delivery.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure.

Strong communication skills when working with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

A recognised qualification in a relevant trade, project management, or related field is desirable.

Commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards across all activities.
