As a Production Controller, you are responsible for coordinating and controlling daily warehouse operations to ensure service levels, productivity targets, and customer expectations are consistently achieved. You will act as a key link between Operations, Customers, Planning, and IT, helping to keep processes running smoothly and efficiently.
This role offers a unique combination of analytical, operational, and customer-focused responsibilities, with approximately 70% office-based tasks and 30% operational support on the warehouse floor, particularly during warehouse start-ups and new customer implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Control
Monitor and control daily warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and returns activities.
Ensure agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and customer requirements are achieved.
Organize, prioritize, and allocate daily outbound orders.
Prepare and maintain daily shipping plans.
Calculate workloads and support resource planning across warehouse departments.
Support operational teams in maximizing productivity, quality, and efficiency while minimizing costs.
Systems & Process Management
Monitor and maintain system interfaces and operational records.
Create, track, and follow up on IT support tickets to ensure timely resolution.
Translate customer orders into operational requirements for warehouse teams.
Troubleshoot order- and system-related issues in collaboration with Operations and IT teams.
Ensure data accuracy and process compliance across operational systems.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Act as a key point of contact for customers regarding priorities, shortages, cancellations, and order maintenance.
Provide timely support and communication regarding order-related issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operational execution and high customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare and analyze operational data and warehouse KPIs.
Monitor performance trends and identify improvement opportunities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.
Contribute to operational excellence and standardization initiatives.
Support the implementation of new customer operations and warehouse processes.
Training & Operational Support
Train and coach key operational employees, including Inventory Control teams, Team Leaders, and Troubleshooters.
Provide day-to-day operational guidance and support.
Assist warehouse operations during peak periods and customer implementations when required.
What Are We Looking For?
Experience
Experience in a logistics, planning, production control, or similar operational role.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, workflows, and capacity planning.
Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Blue Yonder/JDA.
Experience within a customer-focused logistics environment is an advantage.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Systems & Tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools is a plus.
Strong affinity with systems, reporting, and data analysis.
Languages
Fluent in English.
Dutch is an advantage.
