About the Role:

The Facilities Capital team plays a key role in supporting a wide variety of projects from building renovations, office moves, electrical, civil and mechanical asset replacements and upgrades at over 113 electric and gas facilities around the province. The capital portfolio comprises approximately 300 projects per year at about 25M in capital spend.

The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing facility projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position manages all aspects of project delivery – from initial design and permitting through construction and close-out – while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and standards. The Project Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and external contractors to drive project success.

What You Get to Do:

Plan, manage, and deliver facilities capital projects from initiation through close-out, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality requirements align with organizational standards.

Coordinate feasibility studies, cost estimates, permitting, approvals, and other planning activities required to move projects forward.

Work with procurement to source and manage materials, equipment, and services, ensuring value, compliance, and project needs are met.

Oversee day-to-day project activities, including contractor, vendor, and project team coordination to support safe, efficient, and effective delivery.

Ensure projects meet regulatory, organizational, health, safety, and environmental requirements, including HSE management plans and contractor expectations.

Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including capitalization requirements, decision records, and close-out materials.

Monitor project performance using appropriate project management tools, reporting on progress, risks, milestones, forecasting, accruals, and variances.

Make timely, informed decisions by considering stakeholder input, project priorities, risks, and business impacts.

Lead and motivate project team members and contractors by fostering clear communication, collaboration, accountability, and alignment to project goals.

Delegate work effectively, adapt leadership approaches to project needs, and leverage team strengths to improve productivity and outcomes.

Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day operations, optimize processes, and recommend efficiencies to the Senior Project Manager as appropriate.

Provide ongoing feedback, recognize achievements, and address opportunities for improvement to support strong project team performance.

What You Bring:

Post-secondary education in Engineering, Project Management or Architecture is preferred. Other relevant programs may be considered.

7+ years of related project management experience; additional building management experience is considered a strong asset

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams comprised of various backgrounds and levels of expertise

Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong customer service skills, relationship building and conflict management skills

Ability to work autonomously with little supervision

Demonstrated capability to work effectively and professionally in a dynamic environment while managing multiple demands and priorities

Experience effectively leading teams and to get work done through others

Ability to work effectively with external parties (e.g., consultants, customers, government agencies)

Ability to use project management tools including MS Project, SharePoint, etc.

Complete understanding of the application of PMI methodology

Thorough knowledge of standard contracts and purchasing policies

Well-versed in project cost estimating, cost forecasting and scheduling processes

Knowledgeable in HSE regulations and practices

Ability to travel up to ~30% of the time

A valid class 5 driver’s license

Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation is an asset

Please note this role requires the successful candidate to be in the office 5 days per week.
