About The Role
Due to the continued growth of our Finance Team, we are seeking a Newly Qualified Financial Accountant to join our Belfast office. This is an exciting opportunity to support financial reporting, commercial analysis, statutory compliance, and business partnering across a diverse contract portfolio. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will help drive financial performance, support decision-making, and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives.

Location: Wildflower Way, Belfast
Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday, 37.5 Hours Per Week
Job Type: Permanent / Full Time
The Financial Accountant will:
Prepare and deliver accurate financial reporting for an allocated portfolio of contracts.
Produce and circulate monthly contract reports, management accounts, and commercial performance reports.
Calculate and review monthly Work in Progress (WIP), ensuring accuracy and reasonableness of submissions.
Review contract costs and maintain accurate accruals and prepayments.
Monitor contract performance against key metrics, identifying risks, variances, and opportunities in a timely manner.
Perform monthly overhead analysis and support profitability reviews.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Contract Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and clients, acting as a key finance contact.
Prepare working capital reports, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and month-end accounting entries.
Ensure the timely submission of all tax and regulatory returns, including CIS, RCT, VAT, and government reporting requirements.
Support monthly commercial review meetings through the preparation and presentation of financial and performance analysis.
Assist with statutory reporting requirements, including FRS102 financial statements, audit file preparation, and external audit queries.
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support senior management decision-making.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives, KPI development, and the evolution of finance towards a more commercial business partnering function.
Undertake additional duties and projects as required.

About You
Essential
Qualified Accountant
Strong Communication skills and a desire to further your career in industry
A Proficieny in business analytics and strong excel skills are also advantageous
Desirable Criteria
You will have had some commercial experience or have had a secondment of relevance
Previous experience in using ERP systems
