If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH, location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader in compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a 2nd shift HVAC/R technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

AS AN HVAC/R MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to perform tests on variable-speed compressors

Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes

Operate laboratory test equipment, including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics

Setup and operate variable-speed drives for testing purposes

Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests

Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards

Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab

You will be responsible for completing required tests and communicating test results with engineers. You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab

SCHEDULE

This position is on the second shift and consists of five eight-hour workdays Monday through Friday and is eligible for voluntary overtime. This role is based fully on-site and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

High school diploma plus two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills

Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Associate's degree plus one (1) year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience in mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair
