Engineering and Design

Research and recommend solutions to various problems involving electronics and electrical issues.

Create electrical/electronic schematics

Design custom electronic circuits, modules, display devices, controllers, and Printed Circuit Boards.

Ensure that safety standards and practices are met in all design work; namely, high-voltage hybrid vehicles

Write technical reports and analyze data.

Reverse engineering for electrical signals to collect benchmark data

Test Vehicle Build and Support

Design LV and HV Power Distribution and Load analysis for Prototype Vehicles

Design and specify packaging of components, test gear and sensors for harsh in-vehicle conditions.

Design Harnesses for LV and HV for power distribution, CAN Networks, and small signal transmission lines.

Specify vehicle instrumentation for sensors, such as pressure, torque, temperature and rpm.

Desing custom display devices, actuators, controllers, and signal conditioning

Integrate custom hardware modules to existing production vehicles including HV and LV battery charging

Troubleshoot and identify electrical faults and problems, including CAN Network issues

Support off-site test trips

Hardware Build and Support

Build custom control boxes and test gear.

Build-up and solder components onto printed circuit boards.

Build and customize prototype PCM modules.

Build custom packaging for sensors and actuators.

Test Stand Support

Build and install instrumentation harnesses.

Install flow meters, temperature sensors and wiring.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical control system, including 3 phase motor controllers.

Specify components, motors, measuring devices, heaters and instrumentation.

Troubleshoot data acquisition problems.

Education:

Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in electrical engineering experience in automotive or off-highway

2+ years of experience directly related to supporting protype vehicle builds or testing environment.

Demonstrated ability to layout electrical wiring schematics with experience in selecting sensors and actuators.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to complete tasks.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team.

Must be familiar with standard test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, current probes etc.

Must have an understanding of grounding and ground loops.

This position is a can be a salary grade 6, 7 or 8 with ranges from $85,400-$143,200.,Salary grade 7 and ranges from $99,600-$156,600., Salary grade 8 and ranges from $115,000-$162,900.
