Kindergarten Teacher, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

At Alpha, academic work occupies just two hours of each student's day, powered by adaptive learning technology. Your time will not be spent delivering lectures from the front of a room. Instead, you will coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and model what rigorous expectations look like when combined with authentic belief.

You will guide one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten through 1st grade or 2nd through 3rd grade. Approximately half of your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remainder is devoted to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child advances toward ambitious weekly objectives. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously imagined.

This position is not intended for someone seeking to deliver standard curriculum or oversee a conventional classroom. It is designed for someone who is energized by motivating young learners, motivated by measurable progress, and convinced that the right coach can alter a child's path. What You Will Be Doing

Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, focus, feedback skills, and other enduring competencies through hands-on engagement rather than passive listening.

Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and deep relationships to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly learning targets.

Evaluate life-skill mastery using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they exhibit genuine understanding—not merely attendance.

Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, movement, and stories for younger children or greater independence and responsibility for older learners.

Cultivate relationships in which students feel secure enough to push beyond their perceived limits.

What You Won’t Be Doing

Delivering academic instruction from a whiteboard. Students complete academics via adaptive software.

Creating curriculum materials from the ground up. You will refine and customize established playbooks rather than designing lessons from nothing.

Supervising students as they work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and relationship-building.

Reducing standards when students face difficulty. Success emerges from supporting students to meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.

Coordinating homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

Kindergarten Teacher Key Responsibilities

Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are enthusiastic about attending school, consistently reach ambitious learning objectives, and acquire the life skills that position them for long-term success beyond elementary school.

Basic Requirements

Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. Current openings at this salary tier are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

Bachelor's degree in any field.

A minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings.

Demonstrated ability to motivate young children toward challenging goals, with concrete examples of your influence.

Comfort leveraging AI-powered learning tools while dedicating your own efforts to coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation.

The capacity to combine warmth with consistently high expectations.

Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

Background in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schools, or high-engagement after-school programs.

Personal history of accomplishing ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or professional pursuits.

Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage young children's attention.

Track record of transforming hesitant or reserved children into confident, active participants.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
