We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Efficiency Officer to join our Housing Strategy team and help drive forward East Lothian’s ambitious programme to improve energy efficiency across housing.

You will play a key role in delivering innovative projects that reduce carbon emissions, tackle fuel poverty, and improve housing quality across both private and mixed-tenure homes.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining project management, technical assessment, stakeholder engagement, and programme delivery.

Please Note:

Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.

Job Details

To work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive forward an ambitious and innovative Energy Efficiency programme across private sector housing in East Lothian in accordance with legal requirements and the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland Programme.

To assist the Senior Energy Officer in supervising both internal and external contractors to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the energy efficiency programme.

To assist the Senior Energy Officer to identify and explore new interventions and implement delivery to help contribute towards a reduction in carbon emissions and tackling fuel poverty.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications

Degree in relevant discipline, e.g. Energy/Building Surveying and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience in delivering energy efficiency programmes.

Driving Licence

A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
