Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist (Associate)

Location: Galway City Position: Associate (Self-Employed)

Hours: To be confirmed part time & full time opportunities available

My Psychology Ireland is seeking an experienced and compassionate psychotherapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team, providing face-to-face therapy for children and young people.

This is an associate position within the practice, working directly under the clinical supervision of Dr Patricia Barber, Chartered Counselling Psychologist. The successful candidate will receive ongoing supervision, consultation and training, and will deliver therapy in accordance with My Psychology Ireland's clinical model and standards of practice.

Role & Responsibilities

Conduct face-to-face risk and suitability assessments and implement risk management plans where appropriate.

Develop collaborative formulations and treatment plans.

Provide evidence-informed, strengths-based and goal-focused therapeutic interventions for children and young people.

Deliver therapy in accordance with the My Psychology Ireland clinical model, policies and evidence-informed approach.

Integrate feedback from clinical supervision into ongoing therapeutic practice.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development within the My Psychology Ireland model of care.

Liaise and consult with parents, schools, GPs and other professionals as appropriate to support the client.

Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records.

Attend clinical supervision with Dr Patricia Barber in line with ethical and professional guidelines.

Maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries.

Participate in team meetings and other meetings as required.

Work in accordance with My Psychology Ireland's policies, procedures and clinical standards.

Fulfil obligations under the Children First Act 2015.

Education, Skills & Experience Required

A recognised Level 8 qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Psychology (preferred).

Evidence of training in at least one recognised therapeutic modality.

Experience working therapeutically with children and young people.

Postgraduate training in Counselling and Psychotherapy is desirable.

Ability to demonstrate competence in formulation, risk assessment and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.

BACP

IAHIP

FTAI

IAPTP

APPI

APCP

NAPCP

PSI

ICP

Commitment to reflective practice, professional development and continuous service improvement.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

This role is intended for clinicians seeking to build a long-term associate relationship within My Psychology Ireland. We are looking for someone who wishes to develop their child and adolescent practice within our clinical model and contribute to the continued growth of the service.

This role is best suited to clinicians who are seeking to establish their primary child and adolescent clinical practice within My Psychology Ireland. Applicants with external practice commitments should be able to demonstrate that these do not create conflicts of interest, competition, or confusion for clients, referrers or partner organisations.
