What will you be responsible for?

This role sits as part of our Engineering team, is based in Brisbane, and reports to our Technical Lead.

Your key activities in this role will be ...

Design, develop and maintain clean, efficient, well-tested backend code across foundU's platform

Collaborate with product owners, designers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive timely, high-quality resolutions

Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers to build the team's capability

Contribute to architecture discussions with the CTO, Head of Engineering and Tech Leads, and champion the adoption of new technologies and tools

Support the Head of Engineering and Tech Lead as needed, and drive continuous improvement of team processes, agile ceremonies and technical documentation

We're on the hunt for an individual who is highly communicative, collaborative, a problem-solver and brings a positive attitude to the workplace every day.

Proven track record designing and delivering successful software projects, with strong architectural and problem-solving skills

Hands-on proficiency with Laravel, PHP, MySQL and RESTful APIs

Strong grasp of software development principles, design patterns and unit testing

Comfortable working within sprint/agile methodologies in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike

Demonstrated leadership capability and a genuine desire to mentor and elevate team members; knowledge of Australian HR/Payroll is a bonus
