Job Description

Turtleback Robotics Academy is seeking a Creative Learning Assistant who loves building, creating, and inspiring children. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys transforming everyday materials into exciting projects and working alongside students as they design, build, test, and improve their ideas.

As our Creative Learning Assistant, you won't simply supervise activities - you'll become one of the builders. You'll collaborate with students to create engineering challenges, prototypes, structures, vehicles, games, and other STEM projects using cardboard, paper, popsicle sticks, bamboo skewers, hot glue, string, and other common materials.

We're looking for someone who is creative, organized, energetic, and passionate about helping children discover that they can build almost anything with imagination and simple materials.

Robotics or coding experience is NOT required for this position. We provide all STEM-specific training.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with students to build exciting daily, weekly, and long-term STEM projects.

Design and build classroom demonstration projects and prototypes.

Help students turn their ideas into working creations using household and craft materials.

Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through hands-on learning.

Assist the Lead Instructor during robotics, coding, engineering, and maker activities.

Prepare, organize, and maintain project materials and classroom supplies.

Keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for each day's activities.

Help students safely use tools such as hot glue guns, rulers, scissors, and simple hand tools.

Foster a positive, encouraging, and engaging classroom environment.

Celebrate creativity while helping students improve their designs through testing and iteration.

Ideal Candidate

You would be a great fit if you:

Love building, crafting, designing, and creating things by hand.

Enjoy working with cardboard, paper, wood craft materials, hot glue, paint, and similar supplies.

Have experience working with children in schools, camps, daycares, youth programs, tutoring, or similar environments.

Naturally encourage creativity and curiosity.

Are patient, dependable, and enthusiastic.

Stay organized and manage materials efficiently.

Enjoy collaborating with both children and fellow instructors.

Like solving problems and finding creative solutions.

Take pride in building quality projects.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

Arts and crafts

Monday – Friday

3:00 PM – 6:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
