About the role
PAY IS PER VISIT
Join A Better Lou, a physician-led health and longevity practice serving men and women of ages 18-100! As a Mobile Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) delivering compassionate, high-quality care directly in our members' homes across the Phoenix metro area. Care is coordinated by telehealth, and when a member needs lab work or injection support, you are the one who visits them at home so they never have to leave. This is a flexible, PRN (as-needed), per-visit role, ideal for a reliable, patient-focused nurse who is confident drawing blood in the field and enjoys one-on-one time with patients of all ages. You will work under the orders and supervision of our medical director, following standardized protocols, serving as a vital link between clinical care and comfortable, in-home service.
Duties
Travel to members' homes across the Phoenix metro area for scheduled visits, and confirm and coordinate appointments per our standard of care.
Verify patient identity using a government-issued photo ID.
Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, saliva, and specialty-kit specimens strictly per the physician's orders and lab kit instructions.
Administer Medical Questionnaire as needed
Label specimens in the patient's presence, verify accuracy, and package, transport, and ship them to designated laboratories within required stability windows.
Perform first-time and follow-up hormone and peptide therapy injections and provide related safety instruction, all under physician orders.
Take and record vitals and visit details, and complete all visit documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) the same day as the visit.
Recognize and escalate red-flag symptoms, safety events, specimen integrity concerns, and any inability to verify patient identity.
Follow our phlebotomy standard of care, in-home safety policies, and HIPAA requirements.
Required qualifications
Active, unencumbered Arizona LPN or RN license, or a valid multistate compact privilege to practice in Arizona.
Current venipuncture and phlebotomy competency with recent hands-on blood draw experience.
