Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support

Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability

Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia through compassionate engagement and behavior management

Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe patient lifting practices during transfers

Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area

Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication-related activities

Engage in client communication to understand their needs, preferences, and concerns, fostering trust and rapport

Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification standards, and emergency response plans

Maintain a clean environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces

Support residents with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments through personalized care plans and activities

Document care provided meticulously in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, memory care strategies, and geriatrics best practices

Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in home or community settings

Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous

Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift operation or group home experience are a plus

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members while demonstrating empathy and professionalism

Pay: $24.02 - $28.93 per hour
