Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer Role Type: Full time direct hire salaried IV Process: 2 rounds virtual, final interview onsite Location: Austin, TX - (3 days onsite) Visa: USC/GC/GCEAD Intro Summary We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable, enterprise‑grade solutions. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch‑processing environments. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality data solutions Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, OLAP) Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.) Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities) Hands‑on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools <<<<<<<<<<< Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
