About the Role
IRIS RegTech Solutions Limited is looking for an XBRL Consultant to join its regulatory reporting and compliance technology practice. This role sits at the intersection of financial reporting, taxonomy development, and RegTech/SupTech platforms, supporting regulators, capital markets clients, and enterprises on XBRL-based filing and supervisory reporting engagements. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with the discipline to manage client deliverables, mentor junior team members, and operate confidently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team of two or more members on XBRL and financial reporting assignments, reviewing output for accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Work hands-on with regulatory reporting technology platforms (RegTech / SupTech) to ensure accurate, complete, and timely filings on behalf of clients and regulatory bodies.
Own client-facing responsibilities across multiple concurrent engagements, including requirement gathering, status updates, query resolution, and delivery sign-off.
Interpret financial statements and disclosures and accurately map them to XBRL taxonomies, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting frameworks (e.g., regulator-specific or jurisdiction-specific taxonomies).
Coordinate with internal product, taxonomy, and quality teams to troubleshoot tagging issues, validation errors, and platform-related queries raised by clients.
Support taxonomy change management - including impact assessment and documentation when new reporting standards or amendments (e.g., IFRS/Ind-AS updates) are introduced.
Travel on-site and off-site as required to support client engagements, implementations, and project go-lives.
Maintain clear, organized project documentation including scope-of-work notes, review trackers, and filing checklists.
Collaborate across time zones with international clients, regulators, and internal teams as project schedules require.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost and Works Accountant (CWA) / MBA (Finance), with prior exposure to XBRL.
1–2 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, audit, or compliance.
Strong foundation in financial and accounting principles, with the ability to read and interpret financial statements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with confidence in direct client interaction.
Ability to work across time zones based on project needs.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, quality-first approach to reviewing tagged data and reports.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with XBRL tagging tools or platforms is an added advantage.
Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and/or Ind-AS.
Familiarity with RegTech / SupTech platforms used by regulators or capital markets participants.
Prior client-facing or consulting experience, ideally within financial reporting, audit, or compliance advisory.
Knowledge of taxation is an added advantage.
