About the role
Within Eaton’s Electrical business, the Life Safety Division (LSD) plays a critical role in protecting people and buildings during emergency situations. The division is globally recognized for its expertise in emergency lighting , fire detection, alarm, notification, and mass notification systems - enabling safe evacuation and supporting regulatory compliance across demanding commercial and institutional environments.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Specification Engineer – Emergency Lighting Key Accounts for the Lombardy and Northern Italy region.
In this strategic role, the Specification Engineer – Emergency Lighting Key Accounts is responsible for developing and strengthening a robust network of key specification stakeholders within an assigned territory, with a particular focus on emergency lighting solutions for commercial and institutional building projects. These stakeholders typically include engineering consultancies, design authorities, and major end‑users managing standardized portfolios or high‑value developments.
What you’ll do:
Secure early-stage visibility of projects and proactively influence planning to embed Eaton solutions into specifications
Identify, track, and manage projects where Eaton is not yet specified, ensuring accurate capture in Salesforce
Share project intelligence across internal stakeholders to enable effective collaboration with Project Sales Engineers, agents, back-office teams, and other departments
Prioritise high-impact opportunities using a growth mindset and data-driven decision-making to accelerate project conversion
Mobilise Eaton’s internal capabilities with agility to drive rapid progression across the project pipeline the application of Eaton’s Solution Spaces, ensuring alignment with customer needs and long-term business objectives
Manage the role across Northern Italy, with a particular focus on the Lombardy region
Qualifications:
Professional technician with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a justifiable equivalent qualification
Minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial & Institutional (C&I) building projects
Proven experience in electrical design and/or project management for large C&I projects, particularly in Emergency Lighting and/or Fire Systems, or justifiable equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of best‑in‑class consultants, designers, and contractors within the C&I sector
Skills:
Lead qualification and opportunity assessment
Territory, account, and pipeline management
Relationship management with consultants and key specifiers
Discovery, needs analysis, and project qualification
Specification concept development and technical transfer
Opportunity, bid/no‑bid, and quote management
Cross‑functional collaboration and sales enablementCRM (Salesforce), process optimization, and continuous improvement
Italian and English fluent knowledge

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package based on applicable skills, knowledge and experience, and aligned with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range (including base salary and Sales Incentive Plan) for this role is EUR 55.200– EUR 80.960 gross per year.

Compensation
This Software Engineer role pays $55k-$81k/yr. Within typical range for software engineer roles in Italy.
