We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Area Manager to lead our Gold Coast veterinary network. About the Role
Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you'll provide leadership, coaching and operational support across a group of veterinary hospitals throughout the Gold Coast region.
Working closely with the Gold Coast Regional Clinic Director and Gold Coast Regional Head Nurse you'll help create thriving clinics that deliver outstanding patient care, team engagement and commercial performance.
You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, supporting clinics to achieve sustainable growth while fostering positive, high-performing cultures.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and support a portfolio of Practice Managers and Veterinary Directors
Drive clinic performance through strong operational leadership and commercial acumen
Partner with clinic leaders to develop and execute local growth strategies
Analyse financial and operational performance to identify opportunities and deliver results
Support recruitment, retention and succession planning initiatives
Champion a positive team experience that attracts and retains exceptional veterinary professionals
Collaborate with Recruitment, Marketing, HR, Finance and IT teams to support clinic success
Build strong relationships across the region and promote a culture of accountability, care and continuous improvement
Support business planning, decision making and strategic initiatives alongside the Regional General Manager
About You
You're an experienced multi-site leader who thrives on developing people and improving business performance.
You'll bring:
Proven experience leading multiple sites, business units, or operational teams
Strong coaching and leadership capability, with a passion for developing others
Commercial acumen and confidence interpreting financial and operational metrics
Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
High emotional intelligence and the ability to influence at all levels
Strong organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment
A genuine passion for healthcare, veterinary care, animal welfare, or service-based industries
Veterinary industry experience is welcome but not essential. We value strong leaders who can bring fresh thinking, commercial expertise and a people-first approach.
