What you'll do

As a Finance Analyst within the Large Item channel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Large Item operational teams by providing accurate cost reporting and forecasting aligned with strategic objectives. By collaborating with operational and commercial teams, you will analyse trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions to drive forecast accuracy and improve profitability. Your ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influence outcomes, and provide clear, actionable insights will be crucial in shaping strategy, optimising costs, and supporting business objectives. Additionally, you will contribute to wider Logistics cost initiatives, simplify reporting processes, and spend time within the operation to develop a deep understanding of cost drivers and operational challenges, ensuring that your financial analysis is grounded in business reality.

Who you are

You are a part or fully qualified accountant with a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to turn data into actionable insights. Your commercial acumen and excellent communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with operational and commercial teams, influencing outcomes and driving improvements in cost reporting and forecasting. With a proactive approach to problem-solving and a natural curiosity to understand underlying business drivers, you play a crucial role in providing financial analysis that supports strategic decision-making and enhances operational efficiency within the Large Item lines of the business.

Essential Criteria

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or actively studying towards a recognised professional accountancy qualification

Demonstrable capability in Excel and financial/numerical analysis, with evidence of interpreting data to generate business insight. Experience using SQL and data visualisation tools, such as Power BI is desirable

Proven commercial awareness, including experience influencing, challenging and engaging stakeholders to support decision-making

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis and recommendations clearly to a range of audiences

Proven ability to prioritise workload, solve problems using a detail-oriented approach, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
