Lead React Native Developer

Role description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead React Native Developer who can provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in hands-on development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React Native, mobile application development, and a deep understanding of scalable and maintainable architectures. This role will involve setting up standards, tools, and frameworks, as well as ensuring the long-term health and scalability of the app.

Key Responsibilities

ø Design and implementation of the app architecture for React Native project.

ø Define coding best practices and architectural standards to ensure the codebase is scalable, maintainable, and easy to test.

ø Collaborate with backend teams to ensure smooth integration with the backend APIs and services.

ø Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code following the established coding standards.

ø Develop features and modules for the React Native app

ø Ensure cross-platform compatibility, responsive design, and a high-quality user experience.

ø Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to other developers on the team.

ø Establish coding standards and enforce them through code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring.

ø Lead troubleshooting of high-complexity production issues, ensuring root-cause resolution.

ø Support task planning by helping assign development work based on skillset and prioritization.

ø Contribute to strategic technical planning and innovation initiatives

ø Own the end-to-end implementation of complex features.

ø Remain actively involved in coding throughout the project lifecycle.

ø Lead by example through hands-on development.

Core Technical Competencies

Required Skills

ø Minimum 5 years of experience in React Native mobile app development.

ø Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and modular app architectures.

ø In-depth knowledge of mobile app development principles, including performance optimization, UI responsiveness, and accessibility.

ø Strong proficiency in React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

ø Strong ability to define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and scalable architectural patterns.

Skills

Preferred Skills

ø Experience integrating React Native applications with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and enterprise backend services.

ø Strong experience with Redux Toolkit, Context API, and modern state management techniques.

ø Experience with React Navigation and deep linking.

ø Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications using Azure DevOps

ø Experience implementing mobile application security best practices, including secure storage, authentication, and encryption.

ø Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in distributed teams.

ø Understanding of enterprise-level security and compliance standards.

Nice to have

ø Awareness-level use of AI Assistants and AI Agents for productivity.

ø Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

ø Experience with performance profiling, memory optimization, and mobile application troubleshooting.

ø Exposure to design systems and reusable component libraries.

ø Familiarity with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, and Detox

ø Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive mobile UI design.

ø Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot Enterprise and AI-assisted development tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor AI) to improve developer productivity, accelerate code generation, assist with debugging, generate unit tests, and create technical documentation.
