Per Diem Therapist and Care Manager (AIS)-this is a non-exempt, per diem position, Monday-Friday, 10-20 hours per week, located on-site at our Vicente Campus in San Francisco.

The new hire for this position will receive a $5000 bonus after one year of service. (This is a pro-rated amount to hours worked).

Program Description

Edgewood’s Acute Intensive Services programs provide a full spectrum of comprehensive short-term mental health programs including Residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). The AIS programs work to stabilize, assess, and provide care to youth who have recently experienced a mental health crisis and received emergency mental health services such as hospitalization, or are at risk of a significant mental health crisis. Youth in the Residential program reside on Edgewood’s campus on a short-term basis to receive intensive mental health treatment and support as well as 24/7 supervision and care. Youth in the PHP/IOP programs attend intensive group-based mental health programming during the day at Edgewood and go home in the evening and on the weekends.

Position Description

Per Diem Therapist/Care Managers provide intensive strategies to address any current need for stabilization, crisis intervention and individual, family and group trauma-focused treatment. Per Diem Therapist/Care Managers must have strong clinical and advocacy skills, demonstrate flexibility, utilize a strengths-based approach and have experience working with children and adolescents with high mental health needs.

Per Diem Therapist/Care Managers work as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary AIS team that addresses the child or youth's behavioral and mental health needs and can work with clients across all AIS Programs. The Per Diem Therapist/Care Manager adheres to all agency and EPSDT billing and documentation requirements and works with the Clinical Supervisor (or Clinical Leadership Team) to identify policies, procedures, and training needs.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all clinical care for clients on their caseload, including individual and family therapy as well as case management

Provides mental health screening to assess cognitive, emotional, and social functioning and needs

Utilizes crisis intervention and stabilization when appropriate

Provides timely written and/or verbal communication regarding individualized client plan and care to all internal Edgewood teams as well as external providers

Coordinates services with other agencies and resources to address youth's needs including medical/physical health, mental health, education, employment, independent living skills, advocacy, placement stability, and age-appropriate enrichment activities

Assists youth in identifying and accessing community resources as needed

Works collaboratively on behalf of clients as needed with outpatient providers, school personnel, parents and caregivers, and others

Complies with Edgewood Center for Children and Families and California State Boards' requirements pertaining to supervision, consultation, and case conference attendance

Understands and complies with policies, procedures, and deadlines related to record keeping, paperwork, and documentation for Edgewood Center and EPSDT Medi-Cal billing purposes

May participate in agency and program meetings if appropriate

Completes professional development trainings as required

Works proactively with the Clinical Supervisor (or Clinical Leadership Team) to ensure the strength of the program and attend to other tasks as needed

Knowledge, skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in clinical psychology, social work or related field required

Current California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or California Board of Psychology license and/or registration required

Direct clinical experience working with high-risk children and youth.

Valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to meet the Agency's automobile insurance requirements, if driving is required for the position

Experience providing individual, family and group therapy to children and adolescents

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Experience in working with diverse communities.

Experience working with children and families that have been or are involved in issues relating to abuse (e.g., verbal, physical, sexual, and neglect) and trauma.

Experience working with a variety of treatment modalities including family systems work, DBT, CBT, group therapy, etc.

Awareness of substance abuse issues and how they impact a family system.

Salary Information

The hourly rate range for this position is: $44.10 with no differential, and $54.57 a differential for hours completed, and language apply. *Please note- the language differential is contingent on passing a language proficiency test.
