Casual Store Assistant

Overview We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Casual Store Assistants to join our dynamic team. Our Store Assistants play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by helping customers find products, answering queries, and ensuring the store is clean, well-stocked, and welcoming. You will handle transactions at the till, assist with stock replenishment, and support the team in maintaining attractive displays and promotions. You will be key to creating a positive shopping experience and contributing to the store’s overall success.

The store is a busy Londis store based in the Event Centre.

The shifts available are 8 am - 1.30, 1.30 pm - 6.30 pm and 8 am to 6.30 pm.

Duties

Assisting with the receipt of Londis deliveries quickly and safely

Making sure that orders are received, checked, unloaded using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method and assembled correctly in the stock room.

Ensuring inventory accuracy and reporting on discrepancies to the store supervisor

Overseeing the replenishment of stock in the storeroom to maximise stock turn.

Re-stocking products on shelves, ensuring items are displayed neatly, correctly labelled and easily accessible to customers.

Maintaining clean and tidy stores, disposing of all rubbish, and ensuring any potential hazards are dealt with safety, quickly and efficiently.

Communicating and recording of stock issues to the store supervisor.

Being the highlight of people’s day by providing excellent customer service

Requirements

Hold a GCSE in Maths or equivalent.

Have the ability to thrive and work under pressure in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends and public holidays

Possess excellent customer service skills

Physically able to lift merchandise

The role pays minimum wage for your age, but there are opportunities for advancement.

Pay: £10.42-£12.71 per hour
