We have a new position as a Health & Safety Advisor, As part of our Health & Safety Team, you'll work alongside customer-facing services to create safer environments for both our customers and colleagues. Providing expert guidance and practical support, you'll help teams identify and manage risks, investigate incidents, improve performance and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing.
You'll also play an important role in promoting positive mental health and employee wellbeing, supporting managers and colleagues through wellbeing initiatives, stress management and challenging situations when additional support is needed.
Where I’d work:
This role is based within our communities within Lincolnshire. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own diary and the flexibility to work from locations that best support the delivery of your projects across Lincolnshire. This could be at our main offices in Grimsby or Boston, our various community hubs, at home, local coffee shops, or wherever works best for you. You’ll be able to claim back mileage expenses when travelling around our communities.

It would be great if you also bring:
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health Safety (level 3)
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Experience in Health and Safety legislation, regulations, obligations, and safe working practices.
Experience carrying out incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Experience undertaking workplace inspections and audits.
Experience of supporting employee wellbeing initiatives, promoting positive mental health and working alongside Mental Health First Aiders or wellbeing champions.
Good ICT skills with knowledge and experience of Health and Safety IT systems.
Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Even better if you bring:
NEBOSH Diploma or working towards.
Mental Health First Aider qualification or experience of supporting a Mental Health First Aider network and workplace wellbeing initiatives
Ability to build effective working relationships with operational managers.
Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and their application within a housing environment.
Experience of developing and delivering Health & Safety training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
Experience of working within housing, local government or another customer-facing operational environment.
Experience of undertaking estate, neighbourhood or community-based inspections and audits.
What does a typical week look like ?
As a Health & Safety Advisor your week will be varied, people ‑ focused, and full of opportunities to make a real difference.
You’ll be at the heart of helping our customers have access to a safe well-maintained home, a typical week could look like this:
Carry out inspections, audits and assurance activities across our schemes, estates and workplaces, identifying opportunities to improve safety and compliance
Support teams to develop and review risk assessments, safe systems of work and dynamic risk assessments
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and customer safety concerns, identifying root causes and recommending improvements to prevent reoccurrence
Lead reviews of customer safety risks and Red Flag concerns, ensuring risks are appropriately managed and lessons learned are shared across the organisation
Deliver engaging health and safety training, toolbox talks and awareness sessions that help colleagues build confidence and capability
Champion employee wellbeing and positive mental health, supporting wellbeing initiatives, stress risk assessments and our Mental Health First Aider network
Provide advice and support following significant or traumatic incidents, helping managers and colleagues navigate challenging situations
Monitor changes in legislation and best practice, helping ensure our policies, procedures and management systems remain up to date and effective
Analyse health and safety data, identifying trends and producing reports that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Liaise with external organisations, including insurers, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), Fire Authority and other regulatory bodies when required
Monitor the suitability of PPE and safety equipment across services, ensuring colleagues have the resources they need to work safely
Collaborate with teams across the organisation to deliver campaigns, initiatives and projects that strengthen our health, safety and wellbeing culture
