As our “Manager Safety Systems ", you will play a lead role in day-to-day management of the safety systems for APAC. You will work closely with Senior Safety Advisors, Head of QHSE, QHSE Administrator to drive safety and standards with improved systems and processes with an emphasis on managing, and reducing, risk to improve safety and security. The Manager Safety Systems will also support the safe and secure operation of the business, leading the way in safety planning, administration, reporting and safety culture.

You must have the ability to travel both interstate and internationally to meet all planned travel activities, respond to all ad hoc travel requests and have the ability to work variable hours from time to time (including early starts, late finishes and weekends) where required.

Your Experience and Competencies

Essential - Experience in a workplace safety management role, or similar profession

Direct aviation ground operations experience, or experience in a safety role or similar

Strong people leadership ability - drive collaboration and success within your team

Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand aviation regulations, and airport, cargo or airline operational policies and procedures

Working knowledge of Australia and New Zealand WH&S legislation

Contractor Management engagement experience,

High level utilisation of the Microsoft Office suite

Superior observational skills and attention to detail

Highly developed planning, organisational and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Document control/ management

Capability to travel domestic and internationally

It is essential to have the following tertiary qualifications:

Safety or aviation diploma or above

Lead Auditor training or Quality Auditor qualification

Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent

Incident investigation

Risk Management

Working knowledge with ISO

Customer orientation – accurately anticipates emerging and current clients/customers’ needs and establish/maintain positive relationships

Apply sound time management judgement in relation to prioritising work and meeting deadlines

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies

Influence staff, supervisors, management to implement safety improvement strategies and initiatives, and to solve safety problems

Coach management and your team where appropriate on safety, security and environment related matters and initiatives

Identify and manage key dependencies between the Management systems and operational Safety Advisory function and other safety functions to ensure adequate cross functional support and alignment where appropriate
