Fleming Baron, an ASSA ABLOY company, is looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team. This position will be on-site at our manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.

What will you do as our Senior Industrial Engineer?

You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving manufacturing systems, processes, and workflows to maximize productivity, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, support capital projects, and implement Lean Manufacturing principles while working closely with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.

You will also:

Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost reduction

Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput

Conduct time studies, work measurement analyses, and labour utilization assessments

Develop and maintain standard work procedures and operating practices

Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Standard Work, and Continuous Flow concepts

Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies

Design and optimize production cell layouts, workstation configurations, and material flow processes

Perform line balancing and capacity analysis to maximize operational performance

Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow and throughput

Analyze production data, KPIs, and operational metrics to support decision-making

Support production scheduling and capacity planning initiatives

Develop labour standards and productivity measurements

Lead CAPEX projects from business case development through implementation and commissioning

Evaluate equipment, tooling, automation solutions, and facility improvements

Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on project execution

Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and ROI analyses

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities related to labour, materials, transportation, inventory, and manufacturing processes

Develop business cases for process improvements and equipment investments.

Support inventory reduction and material handling optimization initiatives

Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements and waste reduction programs.

Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.

Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.

Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

What We Are Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

P. Eng designation is an asset; job title may be adjusted to reflect qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Must be able to read and understand architectural product drawing

Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies

Experience conducting time studies, work measurement, and process analysis

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools

Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Transformation initiatives

Experience with manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, throughput, labour efficiency, and capacity utilization

Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing data analytics

Experience in metal fabrication, steel products manufacturing, or the hollow metal door industry

Experience with facility layout design, material flow analysis, and ergonomics

Experience working within a unionized environment would be considered an asset

Compensation $85,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
