About the role

DESCRIPTION

You will partner with software engineers and product managers to build and operate the high-availability, low-latency distributed systems that execute inventory transfer and crossdocking decisions across Amazon's fulfillment network. You will design and build scalable, fault-tolerant, transactional services where correctness and reliability are non-negotiable. The ideal candidate has a high sense of ownership, the ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, and a strong bar for operational excellence. This role will challenge you with problems of scale in distributed systems, high-throughput transaction processing, and building services that stay available and correct under continuous load. If you are excited by cloud computing, designing highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems, and being challenged by hard distributed-systems problems, then join us.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced, results-oriented Software Development Engineer capable of building and operating scalable, reliable software for Amazon's inventory transfer systems. The ideal candidate will work with other engineers and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions to complex business problems at a scale only available at Amazon. You will own the design, delivery, and operation of significant components of a Tier-1 service, raise the operational and design bar for the team, and help drive improvements to our architecture. Here you can take your skills to a new level as you work with modern distributed-systems technologies to deliver solutions that positively impact all Amazon customers.
