About the role

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Human Resources personnel. This includes staffing, training, planning, work direction, evaluating, and discipline of TEAM Members in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Purpose: Serves as a strategic HR partner to plant leadership, supporting TEAM Member relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, training, safety partnership, and culture initiatives that align with TEAM Industries’ values and business objectives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.

Promotes an employee ownership mindset by helping TEAM Members understand how engagement, safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and continuous improvement contribute to TEAM Industries’ long-term success.

Partners with plant leadership and Safety personnel to support a safe work environment, TEAM Member training, incident follow-up, workers’ compensation management, return-to-work coordination, and compliance with applicable safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and meets with managers and supervisors to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training or personal intervention, to resolve human relations issues among personnel

Conducts and/or oversees recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, as well as all necessary pre-employment screening for candidates

Conducts or supports timely, objective, and well-documented TEAM Member relations investigations, including policy violations, workplace conduct concerns, attendance, performance, and conflict resolution matters

Partners with plant leadership to identify staffing needs, support workforce planning, manage recruiting processes, and ensure effective onboarding and retention of new TEAM Members.

Prepares and review job descriptions, implementing changes as necessary

Develops and maintains performance appraisal system

Oversees development of Policy, Benefit, and Safety Orientation and ensure Orientation is conducted for all new TEAM Members

Participates in analyzing wage and salary reports and data to determine a competitive compensation plan

Maintains an effective worker's compensation system in partnership with EHS

Advises department managers of all company policies

Maintains accurate TEAM Member data and HR records in applicable systems; prepares reports and analyzes HR metrics such as turnover, attendance, staffing, training completion, and TEAM Member relations trends.

Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures. Consults legal counsel when necessary to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Oversees the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law, local governing bodies or other departments in the organization.

Designs, schedules and conducts necessary training.

Directs the documentation and maintenance of all personnel records and files

Keeps abreast of legislation, arbitration decisions and technical reports to assess industry trends as they relate to TEAM Industries.

FMLA and leave administration

Active and participating member of various committees, i.e. Safety, Events, School/Community Engagement

OSHA and EPA awareness and compliance in partnership with EHS

Available for TEAM Member concerns and assistance as needed

Demonstrate leadership commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and coach subordinates on their impact on TEAM QMS objectives.

Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM Members.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant experience

5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

2+ years supervisory or HR leadership experience preferred

Manufacturing experience preferred

SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, s, suppliers

Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

Maintain confidentiality.

Ability to communicate with a variety of people

Ability to multi-task and manage stress

Ability to handle difficult conversations

Ability to de-escalate conflict

Ability to influence without direct authority

Ability to balance TEAM Member advocacy with business needs

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Regular presence on the production floor is required to support TEAM Members, observe work environments, build relationships, and respond to operational HR needs.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the TEAM Member is frequently required to sit, stand or walk 100% of Shift.

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
