Eaton's IS AER ITD division is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to lead purchasing operations, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives that support production requirements and business growth. This role is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply base, optimizing costs, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering strong supplier

relationships aligned with Eaton's values and ethical standards.

Position Overview

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing the supply base for production materials through the coordination, execution, and monitoring of purchasing activities. The role

focuses on supplier performance, cost optimization, quality assurance, capacity planning, and on-time delivery to support operational excellence.

This position also supports Commodity Buyers and Commodity Managers in the issuance of purchase orders, resolution of supplier-related operational issues, implementation of work

transfer strategies, and site growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Supplier Management

Establish and maintain effective communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders to support plant requirements.

Issue purchase orders for production materials in accordance with sourcing strategies provided by Commodity Buyers and Eaton's Terms & Conditions.

Build and maintain strong, ethical supplier relationships that promote collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Develop and implement supplier logistics solutions, including Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Blanket Orders.

Support supplier selection, quotations, and onboarding activities for new programs and product introductions.

Systems, Data Management & Reporting

Act as a key user of Supply Chain Management systems, including SAP, for supplier maintenance, purchase order processing, and data management.

Maintain and update ERP and quality databases to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production requirements.

Monitor and analyze key Supply Chain metrics, including:

o Inventory levels

o Supplier on-time delivery performance

o ERP exception messages

o ERP health metrics

o Supplier performance indicators

Cross-Functional Coordination

Manage and maintain purchasing-related documentation and records.

Coordinate departmental readiness for internal and external compliance audits.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between Purchasing and other functional departments.

Contribute to the development and implementation of standardized purchasing and sourcing processes across Eaton.

Quality & Financial Support

Support Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) in resolving supplier claims, including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and Debit Memo activities.

Collaborate with Finance to resolve supplier payment issues and provide Supply Chainrelated reporting and analysis.

Support new product launches, business growth initiatives, and supplier qualification activities.

Team Leadership & Development

Promote the development of Purchasing team capabilities, technical knowledge, and professional growth.

Foster a customer-focused culture that delivers excellent support to internal stakeholders.

Encourage collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

Experience

5 to 8 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related functions.

Experience working directly with suppliers and managing supplier performance.

Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience leading and supervising teams

Skills:

Preferred Skills

Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Contract negotiation and supplier management skills.

Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Solid understanding of Supply Chain processes and performance metrics.

Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in both English and Spanish.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Quality System Responsibilities

Perform all activities in compliance with Eaton Quality System (EQS) policies and procedures.

Participate actively in customer and quality system audits.

Support the review and maintenance of functional procedures and documentation.

Ensure adherence to applicable quality standards and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement Responsibilities

Lead continuous improvement efforts within the area of responsibility through the application of Eaton Business System (EBS) tools and methodologies, including ELSS, CIF, PROLaunch, EQS, and other applicable programs.

Actively participate in the Ideas Program and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify cost-reduction opportunities and partner with Operational Excellence teams to implement improvement projects.

Complete assigned training and development programs.

Promote employee engagement and contribute to year-over-year improvements in employee satisfaction.

MESH (Safety, Health & Environmental) Responsibilities

Apply MESH principles, processes, and methodologies to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Participate actively in Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.

Report unsafe acts, conditions, or environmental risks immediately.

Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow procedures for handling, storage, segregation, and disposal of hazardous waste.

Maintain work areas clean, organized, and free from contaminants.

Promote the responsible use of water, energy, and other resources.

Ensure environmentally responsible handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.

Support spill prevention and response activities as required.
