Your role

Your role as an Lead/Senior Engineer at Atlas Copco Group will empower you to be a central figure in the engineering and product development lifecycle within our Compressor Technique division.

In this multifaceted position, you will translate complex project requirements into clear engineering objectives, delivering innovative 3D layouts, detailed designs, and comprehensive documentation. You will take an active role in enhancing existing products through sustained support and continuous improvement initiatives, while leading Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) efforts and cost optimization projects that drive both performance and customer satisfaction.

Collaboration is key in your role, where you will coordinate seamlessly with cross-disciplinary teams including CAE and electrical engineering to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions. You will also provide critical engineering support during assembly, testing, and inspection phases to ensure excellence from concept to delivery.

You will drive customer success and business results by fostering open communication, maintaining high morale, and effectively leveraging internal resources and external design agencies to maximize efficiency.

Product excellence: will be your hallmark by driving automation initiatives such as CAD process automation to reduce manual repetitive efforts and elevate quality standards. Adhering to Atlas Copco’s design codes, standards, and quality norms will ensure first-time-right deliverables and foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement, promoting modular, reusable components and standardized platforms.

To succeed, you will need

To succeed, you will need:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Proven experience of 5 to 12 years in industrial design, with a strong background in compressor, pump, genset, or energy equipment systems engineering.

Expertise in assembly techniques, sheet metal design, piping, flange selection, and heavy fabrication processes.

Proficiency in key design and PLM software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, or Windchill.

Strong ability to manage 3D assemblies, 2D detailing, and comprehensive engineering lifecycle processes.

Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (Python preferred) to support automation and data integration initiatives is a distinct advantage.

Experience with CAD automation tools including iLogic or API development will enhance your capability to innovate.

Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the capacity to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently with independence.

Excellent communication skills, particularly in technical correspondence, demonstrating clarity, precision, and professionalism in English.

A proactive, positive attitude combined with strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn continuously.

Ability to work effectively as part of a global, cross-functional team, embracing accountability, ownership, and results-driven practices.
