CAD/CAM Engineer

Role Overview

Frontmatec-AIRA is looking for a CAD/CAM Programmer to prepare and optimise our CNC machining programmes using Tebis, working mainly through simulation. You will convert part designs into efficient, validated programmes ready for production, working closely with the manufacturing engineering and shop-floor teams.

Key Responsibilities

Programme CNC machining operations using Tebis, working from 2D/3D part designs and drawings.

Build and validate toolpaths and machining strategies through CAD/CAM simulation before releasing programmes to production.

Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining sequences to maximise efficiency and part quality.

Run collision checks and simulation to catch issues before programmes reach the shop floor.

Adjust and troubleshoot programmes based on feedback from production, tool wear, and quality deviations.

Maintain and organise the CAM programme library, tooling data, and post-processors.

Work with design, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturability issues early in the design cycle.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and setup times.

Keep technical documentation and work instructions up to date for machine operators.

Required Qualifications

Degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience programming CNC machining operations, ideally with Tebis.

Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials (metal fabrication environment).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.

Native Spanish speaker.

Preferred Skills

Catalan is big plus.

Experience with multi-axis machining programming.
