Job description

We have an exciting opportunity at our Support Learning Department as a Team Leader in Supported Learning on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.

Reporting to the Head of Department for Additional Learning Support at the Openshaw Campus, this role provides a great opportunity for advancement toward higher levels of leadership and management. The key focus of the role is the line management of SEND Support Practitioners in the delivery of high quality, inclusive support for students of High Needs/SEND in a mainstream, vocational setting across Entry Level to Level 3 and into Higher Education.

Our Openshaw campus is a vibrant, modern hub of learning, equipped with outstanding, industry-standard facilities designed to inspire both staff and students. Located just outside Manchester city centre, the campus offers a wide range of vocational and academic courses, with specialist spaces for areas such as construction, engineering, health, and digital.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Business Administration NVQ Level 3.

Level 3 Management qualification at Level 3 or above.

Project and/or events management qualification.

Advanced IT user qualifications.

Successful experience of working in an office environment within the further education sector and providing recognised high value.

Supervisory experience.

Diary management experience.

Good communication skills (verbal, listening and written).

Ability to manage own time and stress effectively, including ability to work across various college sites.

Good interpersonal skills, including influencing skills.

Strong planning, organising and monitoring skills.

Well-developed motivational, developmental and directing skills.

Good delegation skills.

Competent and reliable budget management skills.

Effective project / events management skills.

Highly developed IT skills, particularly in the use of the full suite of Office applications.
