Summary

The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified candidate for an Accountant Position in Wichita Kansas.

Duties

The duties of the Accountant consist of but are not limited to the following: Participate in daily operations of the Medical Center's accounting system and responsible for systematic verification and appraisal of records - reports - related transaction

Maintain accounting records and accumulate cost data

Prepare - review - and analyze accounting reports and statements

Reviews and complete corrections for reconciliations

Perform quarterly quality assurance reviews and monitor corrective actions taken

Provide technical assistance to Accounting Technicians in the maintenance of the General Ledger in cost accounting functions

Analyze and evaluate current general accounting methods and procedures in terms of adequacy and effectiveness

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory - qualification - and performance requirements are met

Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level

Work Schedule: Full-time - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
