Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Functional Product Owner with Finance and Accounting knowledge to lead the strategic vision, design, and execution of the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Fixed Assets (FA) subsystems within our Government Financial ERP product suite. In this role, you will act as the bridge between our government clients and the technical delivery teams, ensuring that our software solutions meet complex public sector accounting standards and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate should have deep functional expertise in government finance, a strong background in Agile product management, and a passion for driving product excellence, resolving complex defects, and optimizing business processes.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Define and own the product vision and roadmap for the Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets subsystems.

Prepare, articulate, create and clarify Business requirements to Product teams and other stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for product innovation, including the integration of AI and automated workflows to streamline financial processes.

Manage the end-to-end product backlog for the AR and FA modules, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.

Collaborate closely with Scrum teams, including developers, QA engineers, and UX designers, to ensure precise execution of functional requirements.

Accept or reject work results based on functional requirement and define acceptance criteria.

Partner with government clients, internal business leaders, and subject matter experts to gather and document complex business rules, use cases, and functional requirements.

Facilitate workshops, product demos, and user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions with clients.

Reviews Solution Design documents, user stories and other functional artifacts to ensure that they are in alignment with the Business need.

Work closely with Product Managers and internal stakeholders in identifying gaps, enhancements and priorities for the Product.

Assisting Sales teams and other stake holders with demos, RFP’s, product evaluations, prototypes, brainstorming’s activities

Work with the delivery/development teams by driving towards Product road map

Should be able to advise alternative solutions and provide the trade-offs as well as the final recommendation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Must-Have Skills:

Government ERP Domain knowledge in Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets area. Previous experience in a similar role within an IT service or consulting company. Deep functional understanding of Accounts Receivable (billing, collections, cash receipts) and Fixed Assets (capitalization, depreciation, disposal) accounting processes. Worked as a Functional/Business analyst for 10+ years.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Soft Skills & Leadership, Experience with Agile, Knowledge of change management tools
