About the Role:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of automated systems and production equipment. This role involves supervising and coordinating technical interventions during shifts, driving preventive and proactive maintenance strategies, and supporting automation-related activities. The engineer will work to maximize equipment efficiency, optimize maintenance costs, and contribute to new projects and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintenance Policy Execution: Cooperates with Maintenance Technique Responsible in the evaluation of the maintenance definition cooperates in data collection and analysis needed for the evaluation of potential changes to maintenance policies.
Perform troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of automated machines
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in production lines.
Support predictive and preventive maintenance activities
Maintenance Practices: support in the spreading of best maintenance practices.
Safety: ensures the correct application of safety standards and safe behaviours during the execution of maintenance intervention
Preventive Maintenance implementation: guarantees the correct implementation of preventive maintenance actions, including also that focused-on improvement and condition-based.
Spare parts: To guarantee all the necessary spare parts for the maintenance intervention.
Professional Maintenance: To adopt the way of working for Smart factory Maintenance (SAPPM, Mobile Maintenance, Digital SIM etc.)
Update and Archive take part in the update and archiving of machinery books, operative manuals, and other ISO documentation.
Implement automation upgrades, safety improvements, and cost-saving projects.
Identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, waste elimination, and efficiency improvement.
To work for achieving Maintenance KPI indicators, analyses & understanding areas for improvement both at maintenance system as a whole and at equipment / machinery level
To handle the team of technicians in shifts and guarantee the correct in-systems management.
Take part in the breakdown root cause information collection and analysis to detect and implement improvement.
Orderliness, cleanliness, maintenance guarantees that all the maintenance activities are done respecting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
About You:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering .
Experience:4-7 years of experience preferably in FMCG or Food Manufacturing Industry.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
Solid understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, and actuators.
Basic experience with PLC/HMI systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider).
Familiarity with robotics platforms (ABB, Fanuc).
Ability to use CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet).
Knowledge of data-driven diagnostics for troubleshooting and optimization.
Knowledge of TPM concepts, 5S, AM.
