Role Overview
The Investment Analyst supports the investment and research function by conducting preliminary deal analysis, sector tracking, and research support. The role focuses on structured screening of investment opportunities, maintaining research trackers, monitoring sector developments, and providing timely analytical inputs to senior investment professionals.
The Investment Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring a strong research pipeline, disciplined information flow, and high-quality analytical support for investment decision-making.
The role is designed with a clear path towards deal execution: as the analyst builds a track record in research, they will take on progressively greater involvement in due diligence, and execution for shortlisted opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Screening & Pipeline Management
Conduct preliminary reviews of inbound investment opportunities and prepare concise screening notes.
Assess business models, growth drivers, risks, and management quality at an initial evaluation stage.
Maintain and regularly update deal screening trackers, including status, key observations, and next steps.
Support preparation of periodic summaries of active opportunities for internal review.
Research & Market Intelligence
Attend analyst calls, management interactions, and relevant market briefings.
Prepare and circulate structured call notes highlighting key business updates, performance drivers, risks, and qualitative insights.
Track relevant transactions, corporate developments, and capital market activity in assigned focus sectors.
Maintain up-to-date databases of peer comparisons, valuation benchmarks, and transaction multiples.
Deal Execution Support
Support due diligence, and closing activities for shortlisted opportunities,
Take on progressively greater ownership of execution related workstreams.
Sector Coverage & Idea Support
Support coverage of designated sectors through continuous monitoring of companies, news flow, and industry trends.
Assist senior team members in identifying potential investment ideas within focus sectors.
Contribute to thematic research and sector-level analysis as required.
Collaboration & Knowledge Management
Work closely with the senior team members to support ongoing research and investment initiatives.
Ensure research materials, trackers, and notes are well-organized and accessible.
Support internal discussions with data, analysis, and timely information.
Candidate//'s Profile:
Min 1 to 3 years of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
CFA candidature or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
Exposure to capital markets, corporate analysis, or sector research is preferred.
Strong analytical and financial reasoning skills.
Ability to quickly understand business models and industry dynamics.
