Job Title: Junior Production Merchandiser Department: Production Reporting To: Production Head Location: Amraiwadi, Ahmedabad Industry: Women’s Ethnic Wear (Outsourced Manufacturing Model)
Job Summary:
The Junior Production Merchandiser will assist in coordinating and monitoring the entire production process - from sample approval to bulk dispatch - across outsourced job workers. The role requires close coordination with the sampling, merchandising, and QC teams to ensure timely production and quality consistency.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Production Coordination
Support the Production Manager in daily production planning and execution.
Coordinate with jobbers (stitching, embroidery, dyeing, handwork) for timely work progress.
Update daily production sheet and pending job reports.
2. Sample & Approval Support
Assist in preparing PP (Pre-Production) and size set samples.
Record all sample approvals and maintain PP sample folders.
Ensure approved PP samples are handed over to jobbers and QC.
3. Quality & Process Monitoring
Support QC during inline and final inspections.
Check that jobbers follow approved measurements and finishing standards.
Report any quality or production issues to the Production Manager immediately.
4. Vendor / Jobber Communication
Follow up with vendors for embroidery, stitching, and handwork completion.
Maintain daily communication with jobbers for delivery schedules.
Assist in vendor performance tracking and payment sheet updates.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain TNA (Time & Action) sheets and job slip registers.
Record fabric issue/return slips, trimming details, and daily production entries.
Prepare daily/weekly production summary reports for management review.
6. Department Coordination
Coordinate with the sampling, merchandising, and QC teams for smooth workflow.
Update management on production status, approvals, and delays.
Key Skills Required:
Basic knowledge of garment production and quality checkpoints.
Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
Good communication and record-keeping ability.
Knowledge of MS Excel and documentation formats (TNA, spec sheet, etc.).
Understanding of women’s ethnic wear production will be preferred.
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate / Diploma in Fashion Design / Apparel Merchandising / Garment Technology.
1–3 years of experience in production merchandising (preferably in women’s wear).
