About the team
Central Operations keeps our business moving. Our team supports, coaches, and empowers our retail teams across the country. We help them be at their best, so they can deliver the best experiences for our team members and customers every day.
About the role
As the Acts of Violence & Aggression Lead, you’ll lead Coles’ response to serious violence and aggression across our supermarket network, using intelligence, evidence and lawful intervention pathways to help protect team members and customers. You’ll identify high-risk offenders and repeat patterns, build strong cases and work with police, courts, legal counsel and operational teams to progress appropriate action. This role combines detailed case management, stakeholder leadership and data-led prevention to reduce violent incidents and strengthen safety outcomes across the business.
You will also:
Analyse incident, safety, CCTV, Auror and operational data to identify repeat offenders, escalation indicators and priority locations.
Prepare evidentiary briefs, case chronologies, offender profiles and supporting documentation for prosecution, barring action or other lawful interventions.
Represent Coles in court or formal proceedings where required, presenting evidence clearly and professionally.
Maintain accurate records of violent offenders, barred persons, legal actions and case outcomes.
Partner with legal, safety, security, intelligence, store and regional teams to coordinate case management and intervention activity.
Report on offender activity, intervention effectiveness, emerging trends and case progress to governance groups and senior stakeholders.
About you and your skills
You’re calm, resilient and highly disciplined, with strong judgement when managing serious incidents, sensitive legal matters and competing priorities. You can bring fragmented information together into a clear case, influence a wide range of stakeholders and represent the business with credibility in operational, legal and enforcement settings.
You will have:
Experience in violence prevention, security, investigations, loss prevention, law enforcement liaison or a related risk and safety role.
Strong knowledge of criminal proofs, evidence handling, court processes and documentation standards.
Experience preparing and presenting case files, evidentiary briefs, witness material or supporting documentation for legal review or court proceedings.
Strong analytical capability and confidence using systems such as Auror, CCTV platforms, Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Power BI.
