About the Team

The mission of the Queensland Interdisciplinary Paediatric Persistent Pain Service (QIPPPS) is to support children and young people experiencing persistent pain and their families to confidently connect with life, one step at a time. QIPPPS lead in delivering, and advocating for, evidence based persistent pain services for children and young people, and their families throughout Queensland. As an interdisciplinary team, we achieve this through living the CHQ values of Respect, Integrity, Imagination, and Care.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

Clinical Practice

Provide high level independent, family centred clinical Psychology services that includes complex psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people and their families experiencing persistent pain, in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Ethics and the Psychology Board of Australia professional and ethical standards.

Communication / Team Participation

Provide high level psychology advice, reports and advocacy within the interdisciplinary team and health system

Be approachable and demonstrate a high standard of oral and written communication skills to work effectively with children, parents/carers, interdisciplinary team members, other health professionals and agencies and to contribute to clinical intervention.

Leadership / Work Unit Management

Initiate, monitor and evaluate quality and service improvement activities, including the development of policies, procedures and guidelines
