POSITION SUMMARY

As a pivotal member of the Commercial team, the Retail & Education Manager will be responsible for leading the Retail & Education team across ANZ, driving Retail sales as well as delivering key Education/Training initiatives with our key B&M retailers to support the continued growth of Kendo Brands.

The Retail & Education Manager will work closely with the Senior Commercial Manager to ensure that all Retail and Education strategies tie back to delivering on the ANZ KPI targets including Retail Sales, Wholesale Sales and Operating Profit. This role is focused on delivering strong commercial outcomes with key retail partners.

Job responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Driving Retail Sales & Delivering Effective Sales Strategies

Responsible for driving retail sales across Australia and New Zealand for all Kendo brands

Deliver yearly retail and education strategy for all Kendo Brands, aligning to overall retail sales KPIs, business objectives and retailer partnership needs

Develop and execute effective retail sales strategies that drive retail performance across all Kendo Brands, constantly identifying new opportunities to drive sales growth through field insights, feedback and trends

Partner closely with key internal Commercial and Marketing teams to align and collaborate on overall brand and sales ambitions, ensuring all retail and education strategies ladder back to the bigger picture

Build strong, collaborative relationships with all levels of Retailer Field and Store Leadership to effectively implement sales strategies across store network

Effectively manage Retail & Education Team to execute all local sale strategies including but not limited to support for new launches, new store openings, brand initiatives etc as well as reporting feedback and results

Support escalation on instore support required across inventory, VM and maintenance requests

Weekly/monthly retail sales reporting by region and door performance as well as providing key store insights, stock feedback and other field trends to effectively improve and optimize in-store performance

Act as an ambassador for Kendo Brands, always maintaining a professional appearance and attitude both in person and across social channels

Support instore selling and sales as required by the business

Education & Training

Create and deliver best-in-class education content and initiatives through a diverse range of training platforms (classroom, digital, LMS and experiential)

Maintain and sustain high level of engagement of retailer beauty advisors through education initiatives, including adapting execution based on changing business needs

Lead education planning and execution of strategic marketing and education events, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes

Effectively manage Retail & Education team to execute education and training activations per state

Work closely with Global Kendo Brand and Education partners to ensure local education needs are met including requests for assets, content, gratis, swag items and other materials

Managing all training assets, gratis allocations for ANZ region

Manage yearly education and travel budgets, ensuring effective allocation and spend

Profile

ABOUT YOU

Work Experience

At least 5 years in a management/leadership role, preferably either multi retailer or beauty industry

Extensive training and facilitation experience

Strong sales experience and business acumen

Experience managing remote team members highly desirable

Attitudes & Behaviours

Self-motivated, results-oriented, creative thinker and a strong ability to problem-solve

Proven leader with flexibility to function in a fast-paced environment

Strong ability to work independently and with a positive “can-do” Kendo attitude

Skills

Exceptional interpersonal (relationship-building) and communication skills, both written and verbal

Must have extensive experience presenting in person and across social platforms

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).

Ability to travel (driver’s license essential)

Strong time management, organizational and executional skills
