RT Instructor

Fixed term 12 months, 36 hours per week.

Job Purpose

The Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes. The Instructor will assist Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment and will be responsible for all aspects of module delivery, co-ordination and facilitation in respect of the Programme.

What we're looking for:

Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training sector

A relevant pedagogical/training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum

Knowledge & experience of QQI programme requirements, assessment procedures and quality assurance processes is required

A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts

Experience in working in a mental health related area is an advantage

Your Responsibilities

Assist in the co-ordination, delivery and assessment of QQI modules.

Provide systematic training according to specified curricula; maintain all records required for effective monitoring of the learners’ progress; maintaining records of all training in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and producing reports on same, as required.

Mentor learners by example, individual meetings and direct training, to choose the correct timetable, develop and maintain effective work attitudes and behaviours in each learner, and provide learners with adequate and constructive feedback about their progress.

Develop resources appropriate to each accredited module

Report to the Centre Manager on all aspects of Programme delivery, learner progress and refer any problems in the field of attendance, health, education, welfare, etc. promptly.

Perform any other duties within the general requirement of the above specification that may be required from time to time by Centre Manager.

Perform the role of Instructor under the guidance of the management of National Learning Network and co-operate fully with the centre staff and multi-disciplinary teams and relevant stakeholder such as the local ETB as required.

Closing Date: 5th August 2026

Salary starting from point 1 €35,740.34 to point 5 €43,319.87 pro rata. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €60,373.79 pro rata.
