About the role

Social Media Manager

Position Overview

Job Title: Social Media Manager

Department: Marketing / Digital

Reports To: Head of Marketing / Digital Marketing Lead

Location: Bhopal (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in a dedicated social media role with demonstrated, measurable results

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, content-first Social Media Manager to lead content creation across our multiple social media handles in several Indian regional languages. Since Indian farmers connect most strongly with content in their own language, this role is central to how we build trust and community. This is not an entry-level or ad-buying role - the focus is on organic content, storytelling, and community. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on social media experience and a proven track record of growing engaged audiences organically in previous organizations. You will own the content strategy and calendars, lead a content/creative team, and translate performance data into better content.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end content creation across all company social media handles, including multiple regional-language handles (e.g., Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Gujrati, and others as applicable).

Develop and own the content strategy and monthly content calendars aligned with brand and business objectives.

Conceptualize, script, and oversee production of high-quality content - copy, images, short-form video (Reels/Shorts), stories, and long-form video for YouTube.

Adapt and localize content for each language and region so it feels native to farmers - not just translated - preserving the right tone, context, and cultural relevance.

Ensure consistent brand voice, quality, and posting cadence across every handle and language.

Lead and coordinate a team of content creators, writers, designers, video editors, and regional-language translators/creators.

Manage and grow online communities: respond to comments, messages, and reviews, and provide social-first support within defined response times.

Track, analyze, and report on organic performance KPIs; turn insights into stronger content decisions.

Monitor trends, competitors, and social listening signals to keep the brand relevant and ahead of the curve.

Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, product, and field/agronomy teams to amplify campaigns and launches.

Coordinate with influencers, farmer-creators, and regional partners for organic collaborations and reach.

Uphold brand guidelines, manage online reputation, and handle negative-sentiment situations professionally.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of proven work experience as a Social Media Manager, Content Lead, Social Media Executive, or a closely similar content-focused role.

Demonstrated performance in past organizations - able to show concrete results (e.g., follower/engagement growth, reach, views, community growth) with supporting numbers or a content portfolio.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience).

Hands-on content expertise across major platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X (Twitter).

Experience managing multiple handles and/or content in more than one language.

Proficiency with content and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, Canva).

Strong copywriting, scripting, and content skills with a portfolio of previous work.

Ability to direct and brief an in-house editing team (hands-on video editing is not required).

Key Skills & Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication in Hindi and English; fluency in one or more additional Indian regional languages is a strong advantage.

Strong content creation, storytelling, and scripting ability across formats.

Strong creative direction - can brief, guide, and quality-check an in-house team of video editors and designers.

Ability to localize content for regional audiences so it resonates natively with farmers, not just as a direct translation.

Data literacy - comfortable reading analytics and reporting on engagement rate, reach, and views.

AI fluency - using AI tools for content ideation, drafting, and workflow efficiency.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking ability; can manage many handles, languages, and deadlines at once.

Team leadership - able to brief, guide, and quality-check creators and translators.

Creative, trend-aware, and proactive with a growth and experimentation mindset.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Follower and community growth across all handles and languages.

Engagement rate (likes, comments, shares, saves) and reach/impressions.

Video views, watch time, and retention (Reels/Shorts/YouTube).

Content output consistency and quality versus the planned calendar.

Coverage and consistency across regional-language handles.

Response time and quality for community engagement.

Growth in brand awareness and positive sentiment among farmer audiences.

Preferred / Good to Have

Experience in agriculture, agri-inputs, FMCG, D2C, or organic/wellness sectors.

Experience creating content for farmers, rural, or Tier 2/3 audiences.

Ability to read/write in multiple Indian languages.

Experience managing or mentoring a content/creative team.

On-camera presence or experience producing field/farm video content.
