As a Senior Accountant, you will work as a key member of the LATAM Accounting Team, responsible for the accounting, compliance, statutory reporting, and financial close activities for our Mexico legal entities. This role will support the overall month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while ensuring compliance with both U.S. GAAP and local Mexican statutory requirements.
The Senior Accountant will partner closely with Finance, Tax, Payroll, FP&A, Shared Services, and external advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. This position requires a hands-on accounting professional with a strong understanding of Mexican accounting, tax, and statutory requirements in a multinational environment.
The day-to-day:
Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for the Mexico legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
Serve as the primary accounting contact for the Mexico entities, providing support and guidance to local and global stakeholders.
Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting required by Mexican authorities.
Collaborate with Tax, Payroll, and external service providers to ensure compliance with Mexican tax regulations, including VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other local filing requirements.
Coordinate and support external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies during audits and compliance reviews.
Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
What you'll need:
5 to 7 years’ accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
Proven understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and accounting theory
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner and build collaborations within and outside the accounting team
Advanced proficiency in MS Office with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task within a dynamic environment
What will help you on the job:
Chartered Accountant and/or Big 4 public accounting experience
Experience working in a global organization with intercompany experience a plus
Experience working in an enterprise ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
Compensation
This Finance role pays $99k-$156k/yr. Within typical range for finance roles in United States.
