The Department's marketing team maintains a unified, professional, and recognizable brand identity across Department materials, print, digital, video, and social media that reflects the agency's mission and values. They promote conservation programs, outdoor recreation opportunities, and Department initiatives through creative assets and targeted campaigns that reach and engage diverse audiences.
They support the content needs of all divisions by producing accurate, clear, and brand-aligned graphics, videos, copy, and educational materials. They collaborate closely with the communications team to tell the Department's story and create intentional, strategic materials that overlap and can be used across programs, ensuring efficient, coordinated communication efforts.
How does it get done?
Lead and supervise a small marketing team, providing guidance, assigning work, evaluate performance, and support professional development.
Develop, manage, and implement multi-channel marketing strategies that advance the Department's mission and increase public engagement in conservation, outdoor recreation, and educational programs.
Oversee creation of high-quality creative assets such as graphics, videos, photography, written content, and landing pages and ensure all materials follow brand standards, accessibility requirements, and the unified agency voice.
Monitor audience trends, campaign results, and inventory needs to inform strategic decisions and improve marketing effectiveness.
Coordinate closely with Communications and other internal divisions to ensure cohesive messaging and timely delivery of marketing products.
Build and maintain partnerships with NGOs, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to the Department's reach and visibility statewide.
Uphold and strengthen the Department's brand identity by ensuring all marketing efforts reflect professionalism, consistency, and alignment with the agency's mission and values.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional level experience operating within limited parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements
Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
This role is a mix of office based setting with exposure to visual/video display terminals, computer usage, field work. Some travel is required.

Compensation
This Marketing role pays $33k/yr. Within typical range for marketing roles in United States.
